A Center for Communities
Born from student activism, the Cross Cultural Center at UC Davis serves as a base for cultural clubs. The CCC offers resources to host events and to grow leadership skills.
The CCC partnered with Student Affairs Marketing and Communications (SAMC) to create a new visual language to bring more awareness of their resources. Their services were unclear in relation to specific cultural centers for Chicanx and Latinx, Native American and African Diaspora students.
Advocacy and Community
Branding for the CCC came from their history of cultivating advocacy and unifying communities. I used the phrases “Find Your Community” and “Activate Your Voice” to welcome and empower students.
In the past, the CCC had different illustration styles to create their marketing materials. In the new versions, I explored using pictures of students in action and integrating their logo.
Bold New Directions
The final version uses bold colors and CCC logo to highlight students.
